If you’re looking for reasons not to buy a cheap MP3 player, one of the best is that the quality tends to be much lower. When you pick up one of these mp3 players and compare it to one of the more expensive models, you can tell the difference.

With sound quality, the same is true. You’ll usually get better sounding music if you spend the extra cash.

Another drawback is the lack of features. When you’re talking about a cheap MP3 player, the iPod Shuffle mp3 is one of the best examples.

However, you pay less because you get fewer features, including a smaller hard drive, no video capabilities, etc. On the bright side, you do get the same quality player that Apple is known for with their other digital mp3 players.

You might also find a cheap MP3 player that has all the features you want and seems to good quality. If the price sounds too good to be true, you might be looking at a discontinued model.

When manufacturers get ready to launch a new line of mp3 portable players, they tend to steeply discount the older ones just to get them off the shelves. While having a discontinued, cheap MP3 player is not the worst thing in the world, you will have a harder time finding accessories for it and you may just end up upgrading again to the newer model anyway.

Avoid Some Cheap MP3 Player Promises

It’s also a good idea to avoid buying a cheap MP3 player through an auction site or classified advertisement. The price may be good but you may be very disappointed with the results.
